The Best Documentary Wedding at Shepstone Gardens


Initially, I felt a tremendous amount of pressure photographing this wedding. Lara had briefed me on her vision, expressing a desire for candid family portraits reminiscent of early 2000s Dolce and Gabbana adverts. Despite my nerves, I channeled all my creativity and energy into capturing every detail, emotion, and moment of the day. The result turned out to be my favourite wedding I have ever photographed, and I am immensely proud of my work.


Shepstone Gardens provided an incredible backdrop for the event. The venue's aesthetic transported everyone to Italy, making the photographs appear as if they were taken in a charming Italian village. The vibrant and fun atmosphere of the wedding was enhanced by the elegant decor and the classic color scheme of black, white, and red, highlighted by the bridesmaids' stunning red dresses.



The day was filled with laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments. The combination of beautiful surroundings and heartfelt celebrations made it a perfect day to photograph. This wedding allowed me to deliver my best documentary and journalistic style of photography, capturing the essence of Lara and Devin's special day.
